Parking and the Gloucester Visitor Welcoming Center

The Gloucester Visitor Welcoming Center is in operation at Stage Fort Park with significant parking facilities. Questions or requests for brochure packets can be directed there by calling: 1-800-6496839 or (978) 281-8865.

Gloucester's Visitor and Welcoming Center is located in historic Stage Fort Park. This area was the site for the city's first settlement in 1623. Stage Fort Park offers parking, fields, a playground, beaches, and areas to grill and picnic. Explore Tablet Rock and the Park’s winding pathways blending coastline with fort, and find your perfect spot for viewing Tall Ship Sails.

Catch a ride on the Free Shuttle Service operating July 4-7th Only between Stage Fort Park, Crusieport Gloucester, and Downtown Main Street Area

Directions to the Visitor Center are as follows: Rte. 128 North to Exit 14. At the end of the ramp, bear right onto Rte. 133. Follow Rte. 133 to the end where it intersects with Rte. 127. Gloucester Harbor will be in front of you. Go right and then take your next left into Stage Fort Park.

Rails to Sails: Get Here by Train

Commuter Rails leave on the MBTA regularly into Downtown and West Gloucester from North Stations and stops on the Purple Line. For information using the Commuter Rail (Purple Line/Train) from anywhere in Massachusetts please visit here.

Driving Directions to Gloucester – The End of the Line

Cape Ann is easy to reach by train, car or boat. See a map here and a satellite photo here. By car, Cape Ann is less than an hour from Boston and just over four hours from New York City.

Cape Ann is off of Route 128 North, which ends in Gloucester. Use exits 13 and 14 for for West Gloucester or arrive over the Blymann bridge and take the exit to downtown Gloucester at the first rotary.

From Interstate 95 and Route 128
Route 128 and Interstate 95 are the same highway from southern Massachusetts until Peabody, MA. In Peabody, Route 95 branches off toward New Hampshire and Maine. When traveling north on Interstate 95/Rte. 128, stay left on Route 128.
